Description of the genus

Annual or short-lived perennial. Leaves mostly digitately 3-foliate, stipules paired, narrow. Flowers small, few in terminal or axillary heads. Calyx lobed, upper lobes narrow. Standard yellow, narrow. Stamens joined in a sheath opening on upper side. Pod membranous, sessile flattened, oblong with a beak, dehiscent. Seeds small.

Worldwide: Distribution along the Congo-Zambesi divide.
