Description of the genus

Epiphytic monopodial herbs; stems short, leafy; roots arising at stem base. Leaves distichous, conduplicate, linear or ligulate. Inflorescence arising in leaf axils, many-flowered. Flowers rather fleshy, white or creamy-yellow. Sepals and petals subsimilar. Lip entire, concave, clasping the column, spurred at the base. Column short, stout.

Worldwide: 3 species in tropical Africa
