Description:
Stoloniferous perennial, up to 100 cm tall, with stolons 1-11 cm long, densely covered by brown multi-veined scales which sometimes split into fibres. Culms solitary, culm base swollen and covered in leaf sheaths. Involucral bracts leaf-like; inflorescence capitate, spikelets crowded, many per head..
