Description:
Leaves more than 7 mm wide, margins ciliate. Flowers generally more than 2 per umbel; zygomorphic, perianth tube curved at anthesis, the segments connivent into a funnel or bell, with a faint pink keel. Fruits dull green, tinged with red; seeds with a foetid smell, papillose, turning black when exposed to air.

Botswana
Notes: Difficult to distinguish from C. aurantiacum when not in fruit. The two species are sympatric, also occupying similar habitats. The pink colouring of the midrib of the sepals is generally more conspicuous in C. aurantiacum, but this needs to be confirmed.

Habitat: Disturbed areas on sandy soils.
