Description:
Multi-stemmed shrub or small tree up to c. 4.5 m tall. Leaves opposite, elliptic, up to 6 × 3 cm, thinly textured, finely hairy when young, hairless when mature; margin entire; petiole slender up to 5 mm long. Flowers in axillary spikes up to 9 cm long but mostly 2-5 cm long, greenish-yellow, sometimes tinged pink or brownish; stamens 4. Fruits 4-winged, 8-10 mm long, reddish-brown, drying to pale straw-coloured.
