Description:
Annual, sometimes perennial herb up to 90 cm; stems and leaves thick and somewhat fleshy, covered with long stiff hairs. Flowers in dense apical heads, Mauve-blue, purple, rarely white.
Type location:
Tanzania
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: dibrachiata: two-armed, possibly referring to the 2-lobed stigma.
Habitat: A species of grassland and Brachystegia woodland, especially in clearings.
Altitude range: 750 - 2100 m
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Angola, DRC, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
