Description:	Much-branched, shrub-like, aromatic perennial, up to 2.5 m. Branches viscid-glandular when young. Leaves narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate-oblong; margins entire or minutely serrulate. Inflorescences terminal, much-branched with dense glandular hairs on the branches. Capitula purple.

Derivation of specific name:	dioscoridis: named after the ancient Greek physician, Pedacius Dioscorides
Habitat:	In moist places, usually in sandy ground near rivers.
