Description:
Robust terrestrial up to 1.2 m tall. Leaves 2-5, lanceolate, 30-70 cm long, ribbed and petiolate, normally not fully developed at flowering time. Inflorescence densely several- to may-flowered on a stout peduncle, 10-18 mm in diameter with 4-5 loose sheaths along the length. Flowers with sepals reflexed, greenish-purple or brownish; petals forming a roof over the column and lip, almost round, bright mauve-pink; lip obscurely 3-lobed, paler mauve-pink with white or yellow lamellae; spur 5-10 mm long, conical, pointing backwards.
