In Terminalia-Commiphora woodland disturbed by grazing. In lithosol-cambisol soils. Kalomo District; 15 km east of the Lusaka-Livingstone Road, on the road to Mukumi Village. 0Zambia SS1050Herb; 60 cm, erect. Stems purplish at base. Plant with long white hairs. Awns green at base, purple at apex. Young fruits green. Anthers cream, dried style orange-brown. Common in rocks.0
