Description:
Annual, sometimes short-lived perennial herb, up to 90 cm tall; stems pale green to blue-green, whitish pubescent when young. Leaves sessile, subsucculent, pale green to blue-green, spathulate to almost oblanceolate, 1-10.5 cm long, sparely to densely pubescent, when young; margin usually with 3-5 teeth near the rounded apex. Capitula single on long peduncles; involucre cylindric, 3.5-8 mm long and 4.5-8 mm wide; bracts 6-13, bright green or sometimes purplish, 3-7.7 mm long, hairless. Ray florets, mostly 13-18, 3.5-7 mm long, 4-veined, bright yellow to orange, often slightly darker than disc florets. Achenes 1.8-3 mm long, shorty hairy; pappus white, 3.5-7 mm long.
