Description:
Suffrutex with stems annual, erect 5-25 cm. high. Pods nearly straight or slightly falcate.
Type location:
Zambia, Mwinilunga District
Notes: The smaller size of plant, with nearly straight pods, and a more northern distribution distinguish this from subsp. arenaria.
Derivation of specific name: microcarpa: small fruit
Habitat: Mostly grassland, or woodland on Kalahari Sand.
Altitude range: 900 - 1200 m
Flowering time:Oct - Dec
Worldwide distribution: Katanga Province of D.R. Congo, and NW Zambia.

Growth form(s): Shrub under 2 m.
