Description:
Plants commonly communal, though spaced, not aggregated. Bulbs up to 8 cm wide. Leaves narrow, linear, mostly up to 0.4 cm wide, erect, with smooth margins. Flowers 1, rarely 2, sessile. Perianth tube pinkish, curved, 8.5-15 cm long; segments acuminate, white with pink dorsal streak.

Zambia, Mwinilunga
Notes: Closely resembles C. walteri Overkott, which is widespread south of the R. Zambezi, differing from this species in the scape arising above ground, perianth segments widely reflexed at anthesis, and the fruits not beaked.
Derivation of specific name:
Habitat: Very varied, from sand plains in areas of high rainfall, to semi-arid mopane woodland on clay.
Altitude range: 550 - 1400 m

Worldwide distribution: Zambia, D.R. Congo, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
