Description:
Small shrub up to 1.5 m tall. Stems erect, robust, woody, more or less densely covered with stiff tubercular-based hairs. Leaves 4-6-foliolate; leaflets obovate-oblong or oblong-falcate, 12-26 mm long, obliquely rounded at both ends, pubescent with tubercular-based hairs beneath; main vein completely marginal, ending in a small point not far below the apex of the leaflet; margins finely denticulate; petiole 5–10 mm long and rhachis 2–9 mm long, both scabrid-pubescent like the stems, rhachis prolonged beyond the ultimate leaflets for 2.5–7 mm; stipules rounded to ovate, leaf-like, 5–27 mm long, very unequally bilobed at the base, densely veined, persistent. Inflorescences borne on leafy shoots, 2–5 cm long; with large overlapping bracts greenish-yellow, becoming brown, 10–18 mm long, divided into two lobes for half to two-thirds of their length; lobes ovate, denticulate; bracteoles lanceolate, 2-5 mm long, ciliate. Calyx lobes oblong-lanceolate, 7–10 mm long, upper entire, lower 3-fid. Standard yellow or orange, oblong, 8-9 mm long. Fruit of 1 rounded article, 4–5.5 mm long; upper margin more or less straight, lower margin strongly curved, hairless.
