Description:	Shrub 1.5–4.5 m tall; bark rough, greyish- to reddish-brown, sometimes lenticellate, appearing jointed at the nodes due to the scars formed by the deciduous stipules; young shoots densely covered with glandular tubercular-based hairs. Leaves 10–28-foliolate, up to 9 cm long; leaflets oblong-elliptic to narrowly oblong, 2.5–17 mm long, rounded to slightly emarginate and very shortly mucronulate at the apex, asymmetric at the base, entire; venation visible beneath; stipules conspicuous, 5–25 × 2.5–8 mm, oblong to lanceolate, deciduous or a few sometimes persistent, hairless or pubescent. Inflorescences in axillary racemes, 3–7 cm long, hairy like the stems, sometimes together appearing as a terminal inflorescence; peduncles 1.3–2 cm long; pedicels 5–6 mm long. Calyx reddish, hairless, 2-lipped; one 2-fid, the other 3-fid. Standard pale yellow, sometimes veined lilac, or crimson, rounded oblong, 10–11 mm long; wings and keel yellow, the latter much exceeding the standard. Fruit of 1–2 semicircular articles, 10–20 × 6–10 mm, compressed, hairless or with a few obscure hairs on the rounded margin.
