Description:
Slender terrestrial herb 30–55 cm tall; tuber c. 20 × 15 mm, ellipsoid, villous; leaves 7–10, fairly evenly spaced up stem, the lowermost 1–3 sheath-like, the rest spreading, the largest in the middle, 4–7.5 × 1–1.7 cm, lanceolate, acute; inflorescence 12–19 × 2.5–3 cm, laxly 14–20-flowered, the rhachis slightly zigzag; bracts 12–17 mm long, equalling or shorter than the flower; flowers green; ovary and pedicel 11–14 mm long, the ovary arched; dorsal sepal 4–4.5 × 3–3.6 mm, ovate, erect, convex; lateral sepals 4.5–6 × 1.8–2.5 mm, deflexed; Petals 2-lobed ± to base; posterior lobe 3.5–4 mm long, c. 1 mm wide, rather fleshy, lying beside dorsal sepal; anterior lobe 4–4.7 × 0.6–0.7 mm, spreading and curving up; lip 3-lobed ± to base, all lobes linear; mid-lobe 4.5–6 × 1 mm, deflexed; side lobes 4–6.5 × 0.5 mm, spreading and curving up; spur 10–13 mm long, slightly incurved, slightly thickened for most of its length but tapering to apex.

Derivation of specific name: supplicans: bowing down, presumably referring to the arching ovary causing the flowers to face downwards
