Description:
Epiphytic herb with erect or pendent slender stems, up to c. 35 cm long. Leaves borne towards the stem apex, terete, needle-shaped, 1.5–9 cm long, sometimes slightly recurved. Inflorescences arising along the stem, up to 10 mm long, 1–6-flowered. Flowers translucent, light brown or greenish-brown, the lip creamy-white, the column green-brown and anther cap yellow. Sepals ovate, 1.5–2.7 mm long. Petals linear or narrowly lanceolate, 1.7–2.3 mm long. Lip 4–5 mm long with a basal concave claw and a 2-lobed, apical blade c. 3 mm long and 3.5–5 mm wide; spur narrowly conical, 4–9 mm long.

Derivation of specific name: filiformis: thread-like, referring to the long and narrow, needle-shaped leaves.
Habitat: High-level epiphyte in high rainfall miombo woodland.
