Copaifera L.

Description of the genus

Understorey shrub in Kalahari woodland; leaf with 8−10 leaflets, subopposite or alternate; fruit similar to that of Guibourtia, with green, glandular valves separating along one suture to expose the single seed enclosed in a red aril.

Worldwide: 39 species in tropical Africa, tropical America and Borneo.

Zambia: 1 taxon.
