Glumes distichous. Perianth 0. Stamens 1-3. Stigmas 2. Fruit a nutlet, cylindric or ellipsoid, laterally flattened, usually dark brown to black when mature. Worldwide: 40 species in warm regions, especially Africa and Madagascar Zambia: 14 taxa. |
