A strongly branching scapose tufted perennial herb, with leaves seldom present with the young capitula. Leaves 1-several arising directly from the rootstock. Scapes several to many, clustered; capitula solitary on unbranched scapes. Phyllaries with a narrow hyaline or purple membranous margin, subacute to tapering acuminate often undulate at the apex. |
