Description:
Tuber depressed, globose, leaf blade trisect, primary divisions bipinnate. Inflorescences 1-5, appearing just before leaf emergence; flowers cream.
Type location:
Zanzibar
Notes: Flowers Zambia: Aug-Nov (Feb). Conservation status: widespread, not threatened.
Derivation of specific name: boivinii: named after Louis Hyacinthe Boivin (1808-1852), a French botanical collector in East Africa, Madagascar and the Mascarenes.
Habitat: Forest and woodland margins.
Altitude range: Up to 1000 m
Flowering time:Nov - Dec
Worldwide distribution: Kenya, D.R. Congo, Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, KwaZulu-Natal.
