Common names: Kamba dacihamba (Lunda) Kawizi (Tonga: Zambia) Mukomba (Ila) Musase (Bemba) Musase (Lenje) Musase (Nyanja)
Status: Native
Small to medium-sized tree. Leaves 2-pinnate: 2-3 opposite pairs of the primary division are further divided into 4-8 pairs of leaflets. Leaflets oblique, rhombic-ovate to elliptic-oblong. Pod oblong, dehiscent, valves paper.
Type location:
Tanzania and Angola
Notes: Saplings develop a lignotuber supposedly for the storage of water. They often have distinctly purple leaves, while in mature trees the leaves are paler underneath.

Habitat: Woodland.
Altitude range: 900 - 1680 m
Flowering time:Aug - Nov
Worldwide distribution: Angola, Botswana, Namibia, DRC, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
