Description: |
Erect or spreading procumbent perennial herb, up to 60 cm tall, often woody at the base. Leaves 1-foliolate, up to 6.5 cm long, variable in shape from ovate to oblong-elliptic and nore or less narrowly lanceolate, subcordate at the base, finely hairy with longer hairs above; veining conspicuous on both surfaces; petiole 4-15 mm long. Stipules lanceolate, 7-24 mm long. Inflorescences terminal and leaf-opposed, 2-13 cm long, usually fairly densely flowered. Calyx lobes pubescent. Standard orange, pinkish-buff or purple, often paler than wings and keel; wings mauve, keel magenta, mauve or green with a purple tip. Fruit 1.2-2.5 cm long, well exserted from the calyx, not constricted between the seeds; surface with raised reticulation, velvety. |
