Description: |
Erect perennial herb, up to 60 cm tall, growing from a woody rootstock with lateral tubers. Branches shortly pubescent and with a few longer hairs. Leaves usually 3-foliolate. Leaflets ovate, elliptic to linear-lanceolate, up to 21 cm long but usually shorter, sparsely pubescent above, more densely so and paler beneath, densely covered with orange-red glands on both surfaces; petiole 0.7-4.5 cm long; stipules quite-leaf-like, lanceolate, sickle-shaped, 10-21 mm long, green. Flowers in dense terminal racemes, up to 8 cm long on a pubescent peduncle 1-6 cm long. Standard and keel greenish-yellow, densely covered with orange-red glands; wings brighter yellow, glandular. Pods elliptic-oblong, 10-12 mm long, covered in long whitish or rust-coloured hairs and also finely pubescent. |
