Description:
Shrub or small tree. Branchlets with conspicuous pale lenticels. Leaves trifoliolate; leaflets elliptic, up to 16 cm long, central leaflet longer than lateral ones, glossy dark green above, paler below, thinly leathery, hairless except for hairtuft domatia in the axils of the veins below; margin with shallow spaced teeth to subentire. Flowers in mostly unbranched racemes 10-24 cm long, whitish. Fruit almost round, fleshy, c. 6 mm in diameter, red when ripe.

Habitat: In the understorey of submontane forest.
