Description: |
Erect herb up to 1.3 m tall; stem stout, sulcate, with a loose ferruginous indumentum or glabrescent; tendrils absent; leaves digitate, 3-5-foliate, sessile or subsessile; leaflet-lamina up to 25 x 14 cm, oblong-elliptic to obovate, margin serrate, apex rounded or acute, base cuneate, glabrous above and sparsely pilose below; stipules up to 2 x 0.8 cm, lanceolate-acuminate, densely pubescent or glabrescent with hairs on margins; petiolules up to 3 cm long; cymes terminal or in the upper axils, di- or trichotomous; peduncle up to 10 cm long, densely pubescent or glabrescent; pedicels up to 2 mm long from densely ferruginous-pilose to pubescent; bracts and bracteoles 1-2 mm long, linear, ferruginously hairy; flower bud up to 2.5 mm long, oblong-cylindric, constricted in the upper half, pilose; calyx 0.5 mm long, pilose; ovary sparsely puberulous or glabrous; style 1.5 mm long, slightly capitate; fruit purple-black, c. 1.2 x 0.8 cm, sub-globose, glabrous; seed 1, c. 0.8 x 0.7 cm, ovoid, without a strong dorsal crest but ruguse. |
