Description:
Annual herb up to 30 cm tall branching from the base. Branches prostrate or ascending up to 40 cm long, densely covered with appressed short white hairs and spreading golden-yellow hairs, particularly when young. Leaves elliptic, oblong, lanceolate to oblanceolate or elliptic-obovate, 2.5-7 cm long, appressed hairy above, densely silvery hairy beneath with stiff yellowish hairs on the veins; margin entire; petiole 6-20 mm long. Flowers in few-flowered small heads on a peduncle 2.6-12 cm lon; outer bracts up to 20 mm long, leaf-like. Sepals subequal, elliptic-lanceolate, c. 6 mm long. Corolla funnel-shaped, white or pale yellow-green, c. 1.5 cm long, mid-petaline areas hairy. Capsule globose, hairless. Seeds with silky hairs.

Habitat: In woodland, savanna and grassland, on sandy soils.
