Description:
Stout annual much-branched herb up to 2 m tall; stems and main branches often distinctly winged. Inflorescence in a large lax panicle, the involucral bracts with pointed scales; capitula pink. The whole plant is covered in sticky glands.
Type location:
Notes: A winter-flowering species.
Derivation of specific name: crispata: closely waved, curled
Habitat: A widespread species of various types of open woodland, also as a weed of cultivation and disturbed land.
