A slender annual herb up to 85 cm high. Phyllaries gently tapering to a bristle-tipped apex; sparsely puberulous or scabridulous; involucres obconic, the phyllaries diverging. Corollas usually purple, sometimes creamy-white to reddish-mauve. |
