Description:

Suffretex with erect simple stems up to 30 cm high; stems appressed pubescent; leaves (5)9-12 x (1.6)2-5 cm, 3-4 times as long as broad, narrowly elliptic, subcuneate to rounded at the base, rounded or slightly emarginated at the apex with sparse long appressec hairs, leathery with prominent veins; flower heads c. 7 cm in diameter; middle bracts c. 2 x 1.3 cm, rounded, appressed-tomentose or glabrescent on their distal parts; inner bracts 3-3.5 x 0.5-1 cm, linear-oblong, resembling the middle bracts in indumentum; flowers white or pink-tinged 2.8-3.3 cm long; perianth base glabrous except in the upper part, claw villous outside and inside, limb villous throughout or the fourth segment subglabrescent except at the apex; style glabrous. |
