Description: |
Perennial herb prostrate, procumbent or ascending quadrangular stems, up to 30 cm long, sometimes mat-forming and rooting at the lower nodes. Leaves opposite, sessile, more or less broadly ovate, 3–9 mm long, with minute inconspicuous translucent glandular dots. Flowers solitary, terminal, or in few-flowered clusters appearing axillary. Sepals oblong, deltoid or lanceolate, with translucent glandular longitudinal lines and submarginal dots. Petals 2–7 mm long, 1–2 times as long as the sepals, apricot-yellow becoming orange-yellow or orange, occasionally marked with red. Stamens 15–27, irregularly arranged or in three indistinct groups. Fruit a 2-4-valved capsule. |
