| Description: |
Shrub or small tree 1.5–6(12) m tall with pubescent stems. Leaves 7–16 × 1.8–6(9) cm, narrowly to broadly oblong-elliptic, narrowly acuminate at the apex, cuneate to rounded at the base, almost or quite glabrous to pilose on venation beneath; petiole 2–4 mm long; stipules 3–8 mm long, triangular-subulate, bristly hairy. Inflorescences terminal, ± sessile, 2–3(6)-flowered, axes and pedicels suppressed; bracts 2–3 mm long, ovate-triangular, silky pubescent. Flowers scented. Calyx appressed silky-pubescent; tube c. 1.5 mm long; limb-tube 2.5–5 mm long; lobes 1–5 mm long, triangular to subulate. Corolla white or tube greenish; tube (1)1.5–3 cm long, narrowly funnel-shaped or ± cylindrical, sparsely to densely appressed silky pubescent outside; lobes 0.7–2 × 0.2–0.6 cm, narrowly oblong, appressed silky outside. Anthers 0.7–1.5 cm long. Style about as long as corolla tube, the pollen presenter/stigmatic arms joined except for about 1 mm. Fruit 1–1.2 cm in diameter, pubescent, crowned with persistent calyx limb. |
