More or less sparsely branched large shrub, up to 8 m tall but usually less. Leaves opposite, ovate-lanceolate, mor rarely elliptic or rhombic, 5-18 cm long, velvety above, more densely greyish hairy beneath; margin crenate-serrate; petiole 2- 40 mm long. Inflorescences of 3-5 hemispherical verticels per branch, 4-33 cm apart. Calyx 12-20 mm long, 10-toothed with teeth 4-6 mm long. Corolla 30-45 mm long, densely orange-scarlet hairy. |
