Description:
Tepals blue; Anthers blue with yellow tips and base. Leaves ovate.
Type location:
Malawi
Notes: Gregarious.
Derivation of specific name: mackenziei : Bishop Mackenzie, who was stationed at a mission in Malawi, near to where the type specimen was collected, by Waller, in 1864s
Habitat: Light shade, amongst rocks, or on termite mounds.
Altitude range: 750 - 1530 m
Flowering time:Nov - Dec
Worldwide distribution: Angola, Katanga Province of D.R. Congo, Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi and northern Zambia.
