Description:
Perennial glabrous herb from a woody tuberous rootstock. Stems prostrate, slender, glutinous. Leaf-lamina rhomboid-lanceolate, 3–9 × 0·5–4 cm., acuminate or acute at the apex cuneate at the base, margin entire, sinuate or lobed, lobes linear or triangular, 3–20 × 1–2 mm., glabrous, thin, leathery, punctate, 6–8 palmatinervous, nerves prominent at the lower face; petiole 0·8–5·5 cm. long, canaliculate. Flowers axillary solitary; peduncle 3·7–5·5 cm. long; pedicels 0·5–1·2 cm. long slightly enlarged; bracts lanceolate, 5 mm. long. Sepals lanceolate, 1·5–1·8 cm. long, accrescent in fruit, acuminate, mucronulate, membranaceous, glabrous, glutinous. Corolla funnel-shaped, pale purple or pale mauve, 6 cm. long, glabrous. Capsule globose, coriaceous. Seeds ovoid, covered with shiny long fawn hairs.
