Description of the genus
Shrub (in ours). Leaves digitately 3-foliolate (in ours); leaflets entire,oblanceolate, densely gland-dotted; apex mucronate. Inflorescences (in ours), dense, subcapitate, ± terminal. Flowers grouped in triplets, each triplet subtended by a bract. Calyx 5-lobed, the lowest longest. Fruit swollen, indehiscent.
Worldwide: 36 species in eastern and southern Africa and S America
