Terrestrial herb to 60 cm tall; a pair of ellipsoid tubers, divergent at 45 degrees; stem with up to 9 sheathing bracts; upper part of scape with dried bases of previous season’s leaves; inflorescence dense, with up to 25 flowers, all open simultaneously; bracts dry, straw-coloured; flowers yellowish-green with central parts white; dorsal sepal erect, hooded, 30 mm high; spur pendant, 35 mm long. |

| Notes: | Most closely related to Habenaria holubii and Habenaria laurentii. The flowering time in the late dry season is unique amongst Zambezian members of the genus. |
