Description:
Terrestrial herb up to 70 cm tall; stem leafy, lowest sheath-like, mid-stem leaves largest up to 6.5-12 x 1.5-4 cm; inflorescence laxly few to many-flowered; flowers spreading, scented, white; spur 4-7 cm long, inflated in the last 1 cm.
Most characteristic feature of H. harmsiana is the thin triangular membrane between the base of the upper and lower petal lobes.

Tanzania
Notes: Species used in the chikanda orchid trade.

Habitat: Boggy and dambo grassland.
Altitude range: 650 - 1200 m
