Description:
Tree to 15 m tall; young branchlets glabrous or brown pubescent. Leaves up to 35 cm long, with 15−30 leaflet pairs; leaflets of the middle pair 30−65 × 7−18 mm, surfaces not markedly discolorous. Dormant axillary buds flattened.
Type location:
Tanzania, Tabora District
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: boehmii: after Richard Böhm (1854-1884), a German plant collector in Tanzania in 1882.
Habitat: A constituent of drier miombo woodland, particularly on poorly drained soil and rocky terrain.
Altitude range: 900 - 1600 m
Flowering time:Sep - Dec
Worldwide distribution: Angola, DRC, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and northern Botswana.
