Straggly bush about 150cm tall, growing in the shade. Most of the flowers seem to have finished.

Small bush just coming into leaf

Erect plant about 20cm tall. White latex. Flower heads droop. Outer petals greenish white with white and dark pink inside. Paired linear leaves.

In semi shade, c. 150-200 cm tall with white stems and underleaf. The leaves had very irregularly indented margins and were quite prickly. Flowers white.

Large clump growing in a Diospyros mespiliformis

Small herb winding a short distance through other vegetation. Paired leaves - the largest about 16 mm long and 4 mm wide. The flowers are about 3 cm across with each petal being about 1.5 cm. Five thread like petals a pale pinkish brown.

Flowers 13-15 cm high

LOTS of them flowering. Most measured were about 13 cm tall, including the ones photographed a few weeks ago. Several were as tall as 15cm.

Four small plants, only one of which was starting to put out linear leaves. Small brownish yellow flowers on short stalks at ground level. Seems to attract flies, ants and several other bugs but no obvious smell to the plant. White latex present.

Only one single specimen seen.

This species was not listed by Burrows & Willis, Sabonet report 31, 2005.

The tallest plant not much more than 20cm tall. Some going to seed, and the least mature with buds still forming. The largest plant divided midway up the stem, just below where the flowers started, so it's flowers looked quite densely packed, other plants seemed to be single-stemmed. No visible leaves.

Tiny plants - only about 7cm tall. The flowers are about 7 mm across and the spur is about 3-4 mm. One plant had a brownish leaf embedded in the ground around the stem, but others we found had no sign of leaves. The areas we found them had all been burnt.

Flowers creamy yellow with a purplish centre. It grew in our yard at Sinamatella but only flowered with good rains.

Basal rosette of leaves with reddish veining on underside. Single stem with long reddish hairs. Flowers clustered at the top of the stem - yellow. White latex.

It grows in the shade as a small bushy plant not much more than 30cm high. The leaves are very dark green and the flowers grow out of bracts that arise at the leaf axils. There are 3 lower lobes with some patterning on the centre lobe, and a single upper lobe. The colour ranged from pale mauve to a darker mauve in some specimens.

Plants growing in small clumps about 15-20cm tall at most. Stems squarish and hairy. Flowers of some plants were in shades of pink, while others were more shades of purple. The leaves were paired, hairy, and ranged from a roundish ovate to elliptic. When crushed they initially smelled quite strongly of lemon but this faded quickly to a generally herb-like smell.

About 35-40 cm tall with large yellow flowers. Leaves growing almost clasping the stem, which were all very hairy but no prickles.

There were several single stemmed plants averaging about 30cm tall. One had multiple very pale pink flowers growing along its stem. Three others had only one or two pink flowers. The lower lobe has a small purplish mark. No leaves evident. Area dry with lots of surface quartzite stones.

Up to about 20 cm tall. Leaves were just beginning to grow - generally 3 per plant. Flowers light mauve with a darker centre.

Small 4 petal flowers protruding from an oval reddish "cushion" that surrounds the main stem at leaf axils. Petals white with mauve tips. Thin linear leaves widely spaced along stem, in pairs. Pressed specimen is almost 60cm tall.

Only about 6-7cm tall. One or two grass blade like leaves. Six white petals with 2 purplish blue markings midway along each petal.
